LSEC – Leaders In Security

LSEC vzw is an independent not for profit industry association bringing together more than 800 industrial CyberSecurity (CS) partners and reaching out to over 15.000 end users . LSEC is a spin-off of KU Leuven COSIC, Distrinet and CITIP, founded in 2002. Since 2006, LSEC has been an active partner in various research and development projects in Flanders, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, US and Europe. LSEC actively incubates and drives innovation with 20 to 30 innovative CyberSecurity companies in Europe. LSEC is guiding Flemish startup CS technology companies in getting market recognition and technology leadership in Belgium, Europe and beyond. LSEC has been involved as a research and innovation partner in FP7 and H2020 European projects. Its current activities include CS and AI, different CS and IoT related activities, CS for industrial robots and industrial machines, CS and postQuantum, Computing on Encrypted data and other Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Our Market Analysis for CS-companies, the EC and Member States presented a perspective on the different local ecosystems. LSEC operates 3if.eu, a Digital Innovation Hub providing advisory services to SMEs in their digital transition, and to industrial companies taking steps in digital transformation by means of IIoT and data analytics.  LSEC organizes various though leadership activities, by means of expert events and direct interactions with expert-peers and manufacturers, end users and system integrators. LSEC is chairing the market development and investment working group and founding member of ECSO and of Global EPIC, the collaboration of CyberSecurity clusters from around the world, offering innovative CS-companies a landing platform.

KU Leuven COSIC

The Computer Security and Industrial Cryptography (COSIC) research group was founded in 1979 and currently has 7 professors, 6 members of support staff, 8 research experts/managers and over 60 researchers. COSIC is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering at KU Leuven. During the last 15 years, COSIC obtained more than 1200 international reviewed publications in journals and conferences, 13 edited books, 10 patents and has graduated over 60 PhD students.

Flanders Make

Flanders Make is the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry. Flanders Make does technological research in mechatronics, product development methods and production technologies. We have establishments in Lommel and Leuven and work together in a structural way with research departments of the 5 Flemish universities. Our purpose: realizing a top-level research network in Flanders that delivers full support to the innovation projects of manufacturing companies. This way, we want to contribute to new products and processes that help to realize the vehicles, machines and factories of the future. Mission: to strengthen the long-term competitiveness of the Flemish manufacturing industry (including SMEs) by performing pre-competitive, industry driven and excellent research.
